This Privacy Policy explains how Cab Pooling ("we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you use our Platform. We are committed to handling your data responsibly and transparently.

1. Information we collect

• Account data: name, mobile number, email and profile details.
• Location data: pickup, drop and live location during a ride, used for matching, routing and safety.
• Trip data: bookings, rides, fares, ratings and support interactions.
• Payment data: wallet balance and transaction records. Card/UPI details are handled by our payment processor, not stored by us.
• Driver KYC: for drivers, identity and vehicle documents required for verification.

2. How we use your data

• To match riders with cabs and operate pooled and independent rides.
• To calculate fares, process payments and issue refunds.
• To provide safety features (OTP, live tracking, SOS) and support.
• To prevent fraud, enforce our Terms and meet legal obligations.

3. Sharing

We share the minimum necessary data with the driver assigned to your ride (and vice-versa), with payment and communication providers that power the service, and with authorities where required by law or to protect safety. We do not sell your personal data.

4. Location & safety

Live location is processed only around an active ride to enable tracking, ETAs and emergency response. You can disable background location, though some features may not work.

5. Data retention

We retain ride, payment and safety records for as long as needed to provide the service and to comply with legal, tax and dispute-resolution requirements, after which data is deleted or anonymised.

6. Your rights

• Access, correct or delete your personal data.
• Withdraw consent for non-essential processing.
• Raise a grievance with our support team.

7. Security

We use encryption in transit, OTP-based authentication, role-based access controls and audit logging to protect your information. No system is fully secure, but we work continuously to safeguard your data.
